They need to get taken off their high horse and ordinary people need to see the kinds of lethal hypocrites they have been and how they have betrayed their trust as neutral observers of the international political scene. Such a tribunal should be held in Paris and named the Julien Benda tribunal after the famous author who wrote the book La trahison des clercs (1927, The Treason of the Intellectuals), which argued that intellectuals have abandoned the pursuit of universal truths in favor of every kind political and national and international passions.
