   We need a tribunal to put the socialist “intelligentsia” on trial for crimes against humanity for their support of dictators and left and right from Lenin and Stalin to Castro Mugabe and Chavez.

   They need to get taken off their high horse and ordinary people need to see the kinds of lethal hypocrites they have been and how they have betrayed their trust as neutral observers of the international political scene.

   Such a tribunal should be held in Paris and named the Julien Benda tribunal after the famous author who wrote the book La trahison des clercs (1927, The Treason of the Intellectuals), which argued that intellectuals have abandoned the pursuit of universal truths in favor of every kind political and national and international passions.

   A Benda Tribunal is long overdue - by at least 60 years.

   I agree.

   One of my prime candidates to be put on trial is Eric Hobsbawm, the English Stalinist historian who supported every brutal assault of innocent civilians from the Nazi Stalin pact to the brutal Soviet invasion of Hungary in 1956 to the Hezbollah and Hamas rocket assault on Israel in the name of “international justice.”
