Antisemitism Most Foul: The Case of Taki

“It seems to me to be important to allow a debate about the wisdom and morality of Israel’s current military incursion without accusing critics of being anti-Semites at the first opportunity,” writes Andrew Sullivan. “But it is equally important to note when genuine anti-Semitism really does rear its disgusting head.”

By way of example, he links to this putrid piece of bierkeller agitation by the Anglo-Greek columnist, convicted drug smuggler, Pinochet supporter and aging socialite, Taki.

Israel can now safely be called the Bernie Madoff of countries, at it has lied to the world about its intentions, stolen Palestinian lands continuously since 1948, and managed to do all this with American tax payer’s money. Every American taxpayer, starting with George W. Bush, has Palestinian blood on their hands thanks to the butchers that run Israel…

In other words, while neocon Zionists like Frum, Podhoretz and Kristol trumpeted Israel’s withdrawal in the American media (neocon Zionists should be made to register as foreign agents—which they are—of a terrorist state, to boot) Israel was stealing and settling more Palestinian lands. If Israel hopes to stop rocket fire—probably the most inefficient in history—it is going about it the wrong way. Israeli Goebbelses keep asking Americans what they would do if someone fired rockets at them.

And on and on. There is no purpose in dignifying this putrid screed with a refutation. It’s significant only insofar as it demonstrates that some “anti-Zionists” aren’t that bothered about concealing their antisemitism anymore.

Well therein lies the thing…all you really have to know is the fact Taki is Greek. I have never met a Greek who isn’t. As someone somewhere else said, isn’t it nice that the Turks & the Greeks have something to agree on?

This is no different than Glenn Greenwald, “Juan” Cole and Gary Kamiya always write antisemitic screeds on Salon.com every opportunity they get.
