Enslaved by ultra-Zionists…

The Buenos Aires Herald was founded in 1876 and has been published without interruption ever since. Despite the decline in recent decades of the English-speaking community that used to form its core readership, it continues to have a respectable circulation. The newspaper takes pride in the courage its journalists displayed during the 1976 - 1983 military dictatorship when they were among the very few to speak out against the mass slaughter of the government’s opponents. In December 2007 it was taken over by the group owned by media magnate Sergio Spolszky.

If you scroll down to the end here you’ll find a letter to the editor published in today’s edition of the paper with the title “Not My Chosen People”. I copy it below for the record as I am not sure how long it will remain on the website. I think its contents require neither commentary nor explanation.

The conservative, biased, sanctimonious, intimidatory, proselytizing Judeo-Christian glorifying, separation of church and state undermining media in Argentina gleefully reported on future Paraguayan President Fernando Lugo’s troubles with the US and the Paraguayan Jewish community over his appointment of a foreign minister who is accused of supporting the Palestinian cause.

The more balanced Herald informs us of the defection of five Liberal (sic) Party senators from the Asunción government’s coalition for the same reason. At the same time the Jewish plutocratic Sarkozy clan in France peremptorily fired a satirical cartoonist (remember the Prophet’s cartoons in Denmark?) for not toeing the line, i.e. sparing the self-anointed chosen people. The new, confessional orthodox authorities at AMIA (the Argentine Jewish social services association) talk of “genuine Jews.”The local Jewish prosecutor Alberto Nisman exhibits considerable chutzpah in blatantly disregarding conflict of interest in his pursuit of Iranians. Clearly, the pusillanimous West is being enslaved by all-powerful, fundamentalist Islamophobe Jewish and Christian ultra-Zionists.
I am a 55-year-old pro-Palestinian (since the Sabra and Chatila massacres over a quarter of a century ago, which morphed into Israel’s systematic, full-fledged, Messianic state terrorism and unbridled expansionism, whose last example is the mass murder of 1,200 civilians of all persuasions in Lebanon in 2006) agnostic. Must I and secular or ecumenical Jews fear rendition flights, pogroms and persecution?
